This 25 km long cycle route takes about 3-4 hours to complete and leads you through the island's rolling landscape and Sweden's largest oak forest. Start at the harbor and choose whether you want to cycle south or north. There are plenty of opportunities to stop for coffee and food along the way. At the same time, you can experience Visingsö's fascinating history as you pass historical sites along the route.

Visingsö offers bike rentals, and we also have electric bikes for rent – perfect for those who want to take the tour at a slower pace or with extra power on the hills.

Gränna Golf Club

Just a stone's throw from Gyllene Uttern is Gränna Golf Club. A beautifully situated and highly regarded 18-hole course that attracts both beginners and experienced golfers.
The golf course offers a scenic park, forest course with varied holes, fine fairways, and challenging greens.
In addition to golf, there is also a tennis court and a padel court.
After a day filled with golf, relaxation awaits you at Gyllene Uttern. Enjoy comfortable accommodation, good food, and a peaceful environment close to nature and experiences.

Experience Gränna

Polkagrisstaden

There are lots of factories in Gränna, and they all have their own take on this popular treat. Take the opportunity to visit Polkapojkarna, Polkaprinsen, Grenna Polkagriskokeri, or another factory while you're here.

Gränna Church

Gränna Church is the town's gem and treasure. It is located in the center on Brahegatan, which during the Middle Ages was part of Sweden's Erik's Way and later the "riksettan" (royal road). The church was built and consecrated to the glory of God as a resting place for travelers.

Visingsö

According to legend, the island of Visingsö was created when the giant Vist threw a tuft of grass into Lake Vättern so that his wife would have something to stand on. Just like a thousand years ago, the tuft is still teeming with life today! Here you will find historical ruins, beautiful nature, farm shops, art, and child-friendly activities.

Röttle village

Just below Gyllene Uttern, nestled in its green splendor, lies the old craftsmen's village of Röttle.

Röttle comes from the word Rytande. The roaring rapids, with all their water power, have provided energy for various types of activities.

In the summer, you can see Rasmuskvarnen in full operation and perhaps buy some freshly ground flour. Jerusalems kvarn, one of the oldest non-ecclesiastical buildings in the country, can be seen next to the mighty waterfall. At the bottom of Lake Vättern, where the roaring rapids flow into the lake, you can get an idea of how boats once took the straight route to Visingsö harbor.

Why not take the opportunity to take a dip in the crystal-clear water?

The surrounding area

On the way to Tranås, east of Gyllene Uttern and with Ravelsmarksbackar in the background, you can catch a glimpse of John Bauer's summer residence, Villa Björkudden, by Lake Bunn.

At Bunnström's bathing spot, you can book magical boat trips that take you through the canal to Lake Ören. At the northern end of the lake, you will see the resort town of Örserum with the impressive Stora Hultrum estate.

Visit Örserums brunn for a taste of history – where well-preserved wells from times gone by can still be found.

Västanå Nature Reserve

If you want to experience contrasts, a hike in Västanå Nature Reserve is something to strive for.

Here you can hike from pine forest to lush deciduous forest, and it is well worth a visit, especially in spring.

If you are lucky, you may see both lesser flycatchers and rosefinches.
